Born in 1954, San Fernando, CA to Primitive Baptist parents. Left my childhood faith to commit the usual idiocy during my junior high and high school years
("high" school being aptly named); a spiritual crisis during my late teens resulted in me taking out that old KJV my mom gave me, to read it afresh.
There I encountered the Christ who died for my sins and who stood as the solution to my crisis. Being "born again", I naturally gravitated to the
surrounding Protestant culture, in whose churches I spent my first 15 years as a Christian. Attended John Brown University in NW Arkansas, where I received my
B.A. in biblical studies. Earned an M.A. in systematic theology at Denver Seminary. Have lately become a neo-Confederate, paleoconservative, Anglo-Catholic
sort of bloke.

I came across a post of yours that said you were not going to church these days. It made me sad. I wanted to pass on to you a link our church's podcast. It is Christ-centered preaching that I hope with feed your soul.
Blessings,
Artie

Long time, no see/hear/read...whatever. We have returned to Texas (though we're now in the Panhandle, rather than the Hill Country) and I'm doing Family Medicine with OB. I dropped Brett a line the other day and was pleased to see he's doing well. How are you and yours? Are y'all still in Colorado? Maybe I'll be able to bring the Akin clan around someday and you and I can raise a couple, together.
Sincerely,
Jay D. Akin
